Advanced Placement European History


Knowledge of the way people have lived and of the way events and ideas have shaped our lives helps us understand the world today.  The study of history teaches us how we got to this place and time – the story of “us”. - The human race!!!!  Can there be anything more important for us to know???


 
This course is the equivalent of a college freshman level course on European History/Western Civilization and we will take a demanding in-depth look at European History from the Renaissance (1450) up to the present day.  Students will develop an understanding of principle historical themes, analyze historical evidence, and use statistical and visual material in preparation to take the College Board AP European History Exam.

Below is the basic outline of this course followed by the major Themes we explore throughout the course:

Unit 6: Industrialization and Its Effects

Era 4: 1914 – to the Present Day
