Bill of Rights

 Bill of Rights

This class will focus on our Civil Liberties; specifically the rights guaranteed to us in the US Constitution.  Students interested in the law, criminal justice, political science, sociology, or simply interested in becoming an engaged citizen should consider this class.

We will focus on current issues and topics that have become more controversial in recent history that involve the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.  As a class, we will discuss, debate, and consider the issues that have become more problematic and divisive in our nation.  The goal is for students to gain a more in-depth understanding of our rights and responsibilities

Individually, students will choose a specific amendment outlined in the Bill of Rights, and over the semester research their topic, write a paper and present their findings to the class in a visual and oral presentation.
