Social Science for a Modern World

This course explores the origins and application of Sociology. Sociology is integrally linked to the creation  of the scientific method and the transformation that the industrial revolution brought about. Scholars needed a way to systematically address big questions for a rapidly changing society. Sociology was the tool they built. We will explore the historic foundations of sociology and come to understand how this tool can be used by us in the present.
